Dr Ilonka Meyer is a Pain Medicine Physician and Anaesthetist. Ilonka is Founder and Director of Mind Body Pain Specialists and acting Director of the Pain Service at Austin Health, Heidelberg. She has a strong interest in perioperative pain and medication optimisation, interventional pain treatments, cancer pain and palliative care.

Ilonka is passionate about growing and expanding integrated pain services in the public sector. Ilonka has played an integral role in the development of the Peri-operative and Transitional pain clinics at Austin Health. Ilonka is skilled in Clinical Research, Medical Education, Coaching, and Healthcare Management. Her main research focus lies in interventional pain medicine in the peri-operative population, cancer pain and the health economic benefits of pain and medication optimisation patients both pre-and postoperatively.

Ilonka is a passionate advocate for equality and diversity in all areas of her work, striving to ensure every individual has the chance to achieve their full potential, free from prejudice and discrimination. She is a great listener and communicator and strives to maintain timely communication with both her patients and their referrers. Ilonka is a creative thinker and has an open mind about different treatment options; she works closely with her patients to ensure their treatment plan is individualised and the best option for their pain outcomes.

Dr Meyer holds a Public appointment at the Austn Hospital in Heidelberg and also works at both Warringal private Hospital and the Victorian Day Procedure Centre in Heidelberg.
