Waverley Private Hospital would like to introduce Mr Brett Moreira, orthopaedic surgeon who has commenced private practice in Mount Waverley.
Married with three young children, Brett started his medical career as a physiotherapist graduating with honours. Brett has spent 9 years as a physiotherapist, working at Brighton Spinal Group and in a variety of elite sporting areas including Melbourne Football Club, Tennis Australia, and South Melbourne Soccer Club.
In 2008, Brett made the decision to take a further career step and enrolled in The Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, completing this in 2011 at Deakin University.
Brett has since completed his Internship, Residency and Accredited Training through the Royal Australian College of Surgeons to achieve qualification as an Orthopaedic Surgeon.
In public practice, Brett is currently an on-call Trauma Surgeon at both Western Health and St Vincent’s Health.
As Brett moves further into developing his private practice, whilst still maintaining public appointments, he is able to offer his patients a major point of difference with his physiotherapy qualification, combined with his extensive experience in the Public Health System.
Brett is MAKO robotics trained, and he will offer patients a “state of the art” service with every facet of patient care.
With the opening of his new medical specialist practice, Brett is able to offer GP’s and other medical professionals a much shorter waiting time for appointments for their patients. Brett happily accepts Workcover, TAC, DVA and uninsured patients. He can also place patients on the public health waiting list.
With Brett’s experience with top level sporting clubs and his own interest in physical fitness, patients can be assured that their surgery and recovery from any orthopaedic procedure will provide a caring and supportive experience.
