Dr Chris Nahm is a General Surgeon with an interest in Hepatobiliary, Pancreatic and General Surgery. He graduated medical school with honours at the University of New South Wales. Having completed specialist training in General Surgery at Royal North Shore Hospital, he was awarded Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2016. He then undertook a research fellowship in pancreatic cancer surgery culminating in the award of a PhD from the University of Sydney.
Dr Nahm ranked 1st nationwide in the Australia New Zealand Hepatic, Pancreatic and Biliary Association Fellowship matching process, and undertook a clinical fellowship in complex upper gastrointestinal and liver/pancreas surgery at Westmead Hospital in Sydney in 2019. He then moved to the United Kingdom in 2020 to undertake a senior clinical fellowship in complex liver surgery and abdominal organ transplantation in one of Europe's largest teaching hospitals, St James's University Hospital in Leeds. He thus obtained ANZHPBA accreditation in hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery.
He is an Editorial Board Member of HPB (Elsevier), the Official Journal of the International Hepatic, Pancreatic and Biliary Association (IHPBA), and will take on the position of Assistant Editor in 2022. He has published extensively in topics regarding liver, biliary and pancreatic cancer. He is experienced in laparoscopic gallbladder and hernia surgery, and surgical resection of liver, pancreas and biliary tract tumours.
