Dr Ruban Thanigasalam is a Urological Surgeon, who completed his medical degree (MB BS) at the University of London before moving to Sydney. He completed his advanced surgical training in Urological Surgery in NSW and was subsequently awarded his Fellowship of the Royal College of Australasian Surgeons (FRACS (Urology)) in 2013. He is Associate Professor of Robotic Surgery at the Institute of Academic Surgery (University of Sydney).

Dr Thanigasalam completed a two year research fellowship at internationally recognised Garvan Institute of medical research and the University of Sydney, where he was awarded his Masters of Surgery degree (MS). He was also honoured to receive the John Loewenthal medal by the University of Sydney for his pioneering work on clinical outcomes for patients undergoing treatment for localised prostate cancer. He has published in multiple peer-reviewed Urology journals and regularly presents innovative research at Internationl Urology scientific meetings.

Dr Ruban Thaniagasalam is trained in General Urology and has sub-specialised in laparoscopic, robotic and laser surgery. He undertook a two-year clinical Fellowship in Paris to further specialise in these areas. In Paris he was under the tutelage of the internationally renowned surgeon Monsieur Herve Baumert who is one of Europe's most highly regarded robotic and laparoscopic surgeons. He was peronally trained by Monsieur Baumert in robotic, laparoscopic and laser prostate surgery.

Due to Dr Thanigasalam's research background and overseas fellowship training he is able to offer the most up to date treatment options for his patients which enables them to recover and return to activities in the best possible time.
