MARTYN ROBERTS
has been appointed as Group Chief
Financial Officer of Ramsay Health Care.
Mr Roberts is currently the Group Chief
Financial Officer at Coca-Cola Amatil
– a role he has held since July 2015.
Before Amatil, Mr Roberts worked
for seven years at Woolworths Ltd in
various senior executive roles. Prior to
Woolworths, he was in various senior
finance roles in the fashion and luxury
goods sector in Sydney, London, Hong
Kong and Paris including nine years with
Louis Vuitton.
Mr Roberts has a Bachelor of Science in
Mathematics from the University of York
and commenced his career with Coopers
and Lybrand in the UK where he was
a member of the Institute of Chartered
Accountants of England and Wales.
Mr Roberts will commence in the role
in the first half of 2020. He succeeds
Mr Bruce Soden who stepped down
at the end of 2019.
ROBERT MOSS
has been appointed to the position of
Director of Finance for Pindara Private
Hospital, John Flynn Private Hospital,
The Southport Private Hospital, Short
Street Day Surgery, Pindara Day Procedure
Centre and Ballina Day Surgery. Rob
commenced at John Flynn as an accountant
in 2014, before taking up the position
of Finance Manager for Nambour
Selangor Private Hospital and Caloundra
Private Hospital in July 2017. Rob has also
undertaken a relief position as Commercial
Manager at Wollongong Private Hospital,
which included providing assistance to
other network facilities.
CHRIS MURPHY
has reassumed the role of Chief Executive
Officer of Caboolture Private Hospital,
in addition to his existing role as CEO
of North West Private Hospital. Chris
commenced with Ramsay in 2006 at
St Andrew’s Ipswich Private Hospital
and assumed responsibility for Caboolture
Private Hospital in 2008. Chris transferred
from St Andrew’s to North West Private
Hospital in 2011 and has been focused on
the current major site expansion there.
With that project nearing completion and
with the resumption of his additional role
at Caboolture Private, Chris is looking
forward to focusing his energy on ensuring
both hospitals reach their full potential.

DARREN NINNESS
has been appointed as the Director
of Finance and Support Services of
both Baringa Private Hospital and Port
Macquarie Private Hospital. Darren
completed a Bachelor of Financial
Administration at the University of New
England in 2005; he is also a Certified
Practising Accountant. Darren commenced
with Ramsay in 2010 as Finance Manager
at Tamara Private Hospital, and was later
appointed to the role of CEO of that facility
in 2014.
JOANNE QUAYLE
has been appointed to the position of
Director of Clinical Services at Caboolture
Private Hospital. Jo was previously the
Assistant DCS for Perioperative Services
at Sunshine Coast University Private
Hospital. Jo has relevant experience in
both public and private settings in nursing
management roles and in a workforce-planning
role with Queensland Health.
Jo has successfully participated in the
NSQHSS Accreditation process, has
demonstrated success in managing
key KPIs and has actively participated
in the strategic planning process.
Jo holds nursing qualifications in
General, Midwifery, Critical Care and
has a Graduate Certificate in Public
Sector Management.
DEBRA MASLEN
has accepted the role of Director of
Clinical Services at Tamara Private
Hospital for the period of the secondment
of Trish Thornberry who has taken on the
role of Clinical Policy and Forms Officer
within the National Clinical Governance
team for 12 months. Debra commenced
at Tamara in 1996 as a registered nurse
in the operating theatres. In 1998, while
continuing to work at Tamara, she began
part-time employment at Tamworth
Surgical Clinic as a surgeon’s assistant/
practice nurse. In 2015, Debra assumed
a Clinical Nursing Specialist of Operating
Theatres position, held a Nurse Educator
role and was a relieving Nurse Unit
Manager of the Operating Theatres.
In 2016 she was appointed as the Nurse
Unit Manager of CSSD and PACU, which
included the responsibility of dual sharing
the Nursing Unit Manger responsibilities
when the role coverage was increased.
Debra is currently undertaking a Master
of Nursing at Latrobe University.
MATTHEW BARTLETT
has been appointed to the newly-created
national position of Commercial Business
Partner – Public Contracting. This role
will support Ramsay Health Care’s (RHC)
Executive team in bidding on public
contracts across the country, pitching
the various services that the business
can offer to Government. Matthew will
provide the necessary input on financial
soundness, cost benefit analysis and
value proposition. He was most recently
Joondalup Health Campus’ Finance
Manager, a position he held for six
years, but he has work for RHC since
2006 in a multitude of other roles. Prior
to this, Matthew worked for Internet
and telecommunications companies in
Australia, America and Europe in the
I.T, software design, developing and
marketing space. He holds a Bachelor of
Commerce – Accounting and Information
Systems Management and also has his
qualification as a Certified Practising
Accountant (CPA).
GREG WEINSTEIN
has been appointed to the new role of
Commercial Business Partner – Western
Region. This position will support the WA
and SA operations executive team with
analytical and decision-making support –
as well as contributing on several national
projects. New to Ramsay Health Care,
Greg previously worked with Primary
Health Care as Commercial Manager in
their imaging business. Prior to this he
spent nearly a decade working in financial
and commercial roles across a broad
range of industries. With a Bachelor of
Commerce and a Chartered Financial
Analyst (CFA) qualification, Greg has
a strong commercial focus, along with
relevant experience using data and
analytics to help businesses understand
their position in the market and inform
growth areas and opportunities.
JOAN SCHOEN
has been appointed to the role of Director
of Clinical Services of The Border Cancer
Hospital. After commencing her nursing
career in infectious diseases, Joan began
working in oncology and haematology in
the early 2000s, taking on post-graduate
study in Advanced Nursing Care, then
working as a Network Coordinator for
the Hume Regional Integrated Cancer
Services. Joan joined Ramsay Health Care
in 2015 wanting to be part of the oncology
services team which was then based
at Murray Valley Private Hospital. Joan
was appointed as Nurse Unit Manager
when Ramsay opened the Border Cancer
Hospital in 2016, and has acted as the
Director of Clinical Services numerous
times since the hospital’s opening. She
has been working as the Assistant Director
of Clinical Services since February 2019.
LISA WOLEN
has been appointed to the role of Director
of Clinical Services at Albury Wodonga and
Murray Valley Private Hospitals. Lisa joined
Ramsay through St Andrew’s Ipswich
Private Hospital in 2004 before moving
to the Sunshine Coast where she has
worked as Nurse Unit Manager at Nambour
Selangor Private Hospital and Sunshine
Coast University Private Hospital (SCUPH),
commissioning the Surgical Services
Department for SCUPH’s opening.
SIMONE HAZELMAN
has been appointed as the Director of
Clinical Services at Shepparton Private
Hospital. Simone is new to Ramsay Health
Care and comes to us with extensive
clinical and operational experience.
Simone is a registered nurse practitioner,
who has been working as Manager of
Accidents and Emergency and Acting
as the Director of Nursing at Griffith in
NSW. In these roles, Simone guided her
teams to improve patient safety and staff
engagement driving cultural change.
