Dr Richard La Nauze is a specialist gastroenterologist and hepatologist with a clinical interest the management of inflammatory bowel diseases (ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease), advanced therapeutic techniques in endoscopy and also sees patients with general gastroenterology and hepatology issues including iron deficiency anaemia, gastrointestinal bleeding, coeliac disease, irritable bowel syndrome, constipation, pancreatic and liver disease.

After graduating from Melbourne University in 2001 he completed his physician training through Royal Melbourne Hospital. He was a Gastroenterology trainee at Frankston and Alfred Hospitals before completing his Fellowships in advanced endoscopy at The Alfred Hospital for two years (learning polypectomy and balloon enteroscopy) and in London at St Mark’s Hospital, a specialist hospital for gastroenterological and colorectal diseases, undertaking further training in large polypectomy, endoscopic and medical management of inflammatory bowel diseases and polyposis syndromes.
Dr La Nauze is permanently located on the Mornington Peninsula with his wife and young family. He is committed to providing quality endoscopy and participates in national colonoscopy training initiatives through the Gastroenterology Society of Australia.
