Dr Tamer Mettyas is a Queensland trained Orthopaedic Surgeon with interests in upper limb.
Dr Mettyas graduated from the School of Medicine, Cairo University in 1999 and also attained a Master’s Degree in Orthopaedics and Trauma in 2005 while furthering his career in Egypt. He became a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2006 and commenced work in the United Kingdom in 2008. To enhance his career development Dr Mettyas along with his family relocated to Australia in 2009.
After completing his Orthopaedic training in Queensland in 2021, he was awarded the fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. Dr Mettyas then undertook further advanced training in hand, wrist & microsurgery at Macquarie University Hospital, Sydney in 2021. This was followed by another sub-specialty upper limb fellowship training in shoulder, elbow & hand surgery at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane. Dr Mettyas has gained his surgical experience through many years of work across three different countries.
Dr Mettyas consults and operates privately at Greenslopes Private Hospital and North West Private Hospital. His public appointments are at Princess Alexandra Hospital, Redland Hospital & Ipswich Hospital.
Dr Mettyas is passionate about treating upper limb conditions and injuries with the focus of his practice on shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand surgery including open and arthroscopic procedures.
