Dr. Sumit Mehra is a specialist respiratory and sleep medicine physician who has had many years of professional experience in respiratory and sleep disorders. His main focus is lung cancer and nodule diagnostics, pleural disorders, asthma, ILD, bronchiectasis, respiratory infections and pulmonary embolism.

Background & Training
Formerly a consultant at Sir Charles Gardiner Hospital, Dr. Mehra’s educational journey began at King George Medical University in India, followed by advanced respiratory specialization at St George Hospital, Sydney, and Flinders Medical Centre, Adelaide. His postgraduate training encompasses a Fellowship in Sleep Medicine at the WASDRI, Sir Charles Gardiner Hospital, Perth; a Fellowship in Lung Cancers and Pleural Diseases at Flinders Medical Centre, Adelaide; Sleep Medicine at Western New York, USA; and in interventional Pulmonology, Asthma and Allergy at Bolnisnica Golnik, Europe.
Research
Dr. Mehra has contributed to over 45 scholarly articles. He actively participates as a reviewer and editorial board member for leading international journals including being chief editor for Journal of Pulmonology (PULSUS). He has been contributing to major trials as a principal investigator at the Centre of Sleep Science at the University of Western Australia (UWA).
