Dr Chris Xu is a nephrologist and general medicine physician consulting at Nambour Selangor Private Hospital and Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital.

Originally hailing from the sunshine state, he graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2013. Dr Chris Xu then went on to complete his advance training in general medicine and nephrology across major tertiary centres and rural-remote hospitals throughout Australia experiencing a full spectrum of cutting-edge medicine and rural-remote cross-cultural healthcare. His clinical experience spanned across six different states and territories including major tertiary centres including the Royal Darwin Hospital, the Kathrine District Hospital, Launceston General Hospital, the prestigious Alfred Hospital renal transplant unit and the Western Health in Melbourne.

He relocated to Sunshine Coast in 2024 to start his own private practice in Nephrology and General Medicine. He is proud to join a team of passionate renal physicians to provide comprehensive and holistic care to the Sunshine Coast region.

His passion for renal medicine encompasses the management hypertension, chronic kidney disease, dialysis, renal transplantation, and glomerulonephritis.

His biggest lifetime achievement thus far had been the ability to put his 9 months old to sleep in a record three minutes by simply reading his highly exciting research abstract.
