Dr Sheena is an internationally trained, Plastic Surgeon, with over 15 years experience in all aspects of cosmetic and reconstructive surgery.  He has a passion for quality breast aesthetic surgery, microsurgical reconstruction and body contouring procedures.  He also manages skin cancer, hand conditions and the full spectrum of plastic surgery conditions in children or adults ranging scar revision to complex wounds.
 
After qualifying in 2006 from University College London Medical School, he completed general surgical training around London, Oxford and Birmingham and then undertook higher surgical training in Plastic Surgery in the Cambridge region culminating in the award of Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, FRCS (Plast) in 2017.  In 2018 Dr Sheena completed a prestigious Onco-plastic Breast Surgery fellowship at Chelmsford (UK) working alongside senior breast surgeon Dr Simon Smith and world-renowned Microsurgeon Prof Venkat Ramakrishnan.
 
Dr Sheena moved with his young family to Perth (WA) in 2019 where he spent 3 years completing further senior fellowships at the Royal Perth Hospital, Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and the Rodin Clinic gaining a high-volume exposure to trauma, cancer reconstruction and aesthetic surgery.  
 
In 2023 Dr Sheena was fortunate to move to the Gold Coast, taking up a public appointment as a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery consultant in Queensland Health and continues to work in this role serving Robina, Varsity Lakes and Gold Coast University Hospitals. He has advanced training in breast surgery, offering the full repertoire of reconstructive techniques (implant-based, microsurgical and lipo-remodelling) in the immediate and delayed settings, and has extensive experience in breast aesthetic surgery ranging breast reduction (Mammoplasty), breast lift (Mastopexy), breast enlargement (Augmentation).  He is the current chair of the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service Breast Reconstruction Multi-Disciplinary Team.  Dr Sheena undertakes a wide range of procedures including skin cancer surgery, hand surgery and general trauma reconstructive surgery.  
 
Dr Sheena enjoys teaching student doctors and supervising surgical trainees and has a strong clinical research record, regularly publishing book chapters and in peer-reviewed journals and presenting at national meetings and international conferences.  He was awarded an honorary Senior Lecturer post at Griffith University in 2024.
 
Dr Sheena was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS, Plast) in 2025 becoming the first and only plastic surgeon on the Gold Coast region with dual specialist fellowship in Plastic Surgery from both the Royal College of Surgeons of England and the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.

Outside his medical practice, Dr Sheena loves spending time with his young family, travel and most sports.
