Dr Vishwas Raghunath is a Nephrologist and Obstetric Physician who provides comprehensive, high quality, compassionate and evidence-based care. He is a staff specialist at Ipswich Hospital and co-manages the High Risk Pregnancy service at West Moreton health service with experience in managing a range of complex medical conditions during pregnancy. He is happy to provide pre-pregnancy counselling for women with preexisting complex medical conditions and post-delivery care. He was key in establishing and developing kidney health care in West Moreton health service. He has a keen interest in the management of chronic kidney disease, acute kidney injury, hypertension, kidney replacement therapies and renal supportive care.

Dr Raghunath completed his basic physician training at The Prince Charles Hospital, Brisbane; and nephrology specialist training in Brisbane and Sydney - The Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, Liverpool Hospital, St. George Hospital and Prince of Wales Hospital. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and believes in a balanced career in healthcare and academics. He completed his obstetric medicine training at Mater Mother’s Hospital and continues to work collaboratively with them. 

He has a conjoint appointment with the University of Queensland and regularly presents at many national and international conferences and meetings. He is an active member of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Nephrology (ANZSN), the International Society of Nephrology (ISN) and the Society of Obstetric Medicine of Australia and New Zealand (SOMANZ). He was a committee member of the Queensland Statewide Renal Network and worked towards implementing effective kidney care initiatives across the state. 

Dr Raghunath has commenced private practice at Nathow Medical Services, Churchill Street, Ipswich and welcomes new patient referrals.
