Dr Emma Flanagan is a Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist and clinician researcher who combines private practice with a public hospital appointment at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne. Emma is an expert in the optimalmanagement of inflammatory bowel disease during pregnancy. Having completed a PhD focussing on inflammatory bowel disease in pregnancy, she continues to lead clinical research as the head of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Pregnancy clinic at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne.
Emma trained in gastrointestinal ultrasonography in Milan, Italy. She performs gastrointestinal ultrasound at St Vincent’s Hospital, the Alfred Hospital and in the rooms at Gastrointestinal Ultrasound Melbourne. She is involved in teaching gastrointestinal ultrasound and is currently serving as the secretary of the national gastrointestinal ultrasound network (GENIUS).
