Deepak Cheriachan is an Australian trained Orthopaedic Surgeon with an interest in shoulder, elbow, trauma surgery, reconstructive and arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder and elbow.
Deepak grew up on the south coast of NSW and after completing his schooling in Nowra, Deepak went on to complete his medical degree at the University of Western Australia. He completed his orthopaedic training in the Australian Orthopaedic Associations’s (AOA) New South Wales Northside training program.
Deepak completed two fellowships after completing his orthopaedic training. Firstly, a Trauma Fellowship locally at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney. Following that he completed a second fellowship at The Cleveland Clinic, Ohio, USA. Here, he trained in complex shoulder and elbow surgery, with a focus on reconstructive and arthroscopic techniques. The Cleveland Clinic is a world-renowned hospital with exceptional surgical training facilities in the USA.
Deepak is also actively involved in research, publishing articles in peer reviewed journals, contributing to textbook chapters and being a speaker at national and international meetings
